Lambs Are Here

We thought the other ewes would be delivering shortly but, days went by and finally on this cold frigid morning a second ewe gave birth to the twins pictured below.

The second one was pure black.

Even in the shelter the wet babies were shivering pretty good but, by now she has them all clean and dried off and seem warm while snuggled in a fresh layer of green hay.

We have at least one more Shetland ewe due to deliver. We aren't sure about the Navajo Churro. She is so skittish it's not easy to check her to see if her bag is filling. So we don't even know if she is pregnant. Time will tell.
We are excited about the new additions to our flock.
